1,200 Mile Line Takes First Oil

Completion of the 1,200-mile tube makes available to the world oil markets one of the greatest oil reserves in the world the potentialities of which have not yet been fully explored. It is believed the line will carry two million tons of oil a year out of the field.

With oil flowing into this city in tremendous quantities, development of Haifa into one of the greatest harbors on the Mediterranean is materially advanced. Haifa has already become the economic rival of Beirut, Syria, and its greatly improved transit facilities make it an all-important key city to the Near East.
