The general Arab strike of the previous day called by the Moslem Supreme Council was observed by Moslem and Christian Arabs throughout the entire country. The strike was as widespread as the one held in 1925 protesting the visit of Lord Balfour at the opening of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. No violence of any moment was reported, probably because the government had warned the Arabs that any outbreaks would be severely dealt with.
