Zion Council is Opposed by Hadassah

Present proposals for a legislative council to constitute the governing body in Palestine were bitterly opposed today by the twentieth annual convention of Hadassah in one of a number of resolutions seeking improved conditions for Jews in the holy land.

Expressing its protest through the Jewish agency, Hadassah urged that the British government further study the question, “in the hope and faith that a constructive plan will be found for the gradual establishment of self-governing institutions in Palestine in consonance with the Balfour declaration and the mandate of the League of Nations.”
