Jewish policemen in the southern district of Palestine are resigning because of a desire to return to agricultural work or dissatisfaction with transfers to other posts, Roy G. B. Spicer, inspector general of Palestine police, declared in an official communique.
The communique was issued in reply to an article in Hayarden, Revisionist daily, commenting on the frequent resignation of Jews from the police force.
Only four have resigned in the last three months, the statement declared. Two were in service two years, one eight years, while a fourth had been on the force six months. Two men resigned because of a desire to return to work on the land, while the other two were dissatisfied owing to transfers to other posts, Spicer said.
