Klemperer Bids City Temporary Farewell

Otto Klemperer will make his final appearance with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra this afternoon at Carnegie Hall in a program comprising the Weber “Freischuetz” Overture, the Janacek Sinfonietta, and the Beethoven Seventh Symphony.

Klemperer will return to New York later in the year with the Philadelphia Orchestra which is conducting for seven weeks after January 1. In the interim he will be on the Pacific Coast as director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
