The agreement between the warring factions in Palestine, recently reached, is hailed by the Philadelphia Jewish World in the following words:
“It is gratifying that the leaders of both factions realized in time where their struggle could lead and have signed an agreement, an armistice—to stop the terroristic and sabotage activities on the part of extremists of both sides.
“If physical destructive strife ceases there can be hope of an understanding and settlement with respect to the theoretical struggle which the Revisionists have brought into the Zionist ranks.
“This compact will also, it is hoped, lead to a peaceful agreement between the two most bitter opponents in Zionism—the Histadruth, Palestine labor body, and the Revisionists. Because so long as peace does not reign between these two bodies, there can be no hope of peace in Zionism.
“The first important step has been taken. It is to be hoped that the Zion leaders will not stop at this, but will continue to drive their efforts in the same direction until they succeed in creating in the Zionist ranks a complete and permanent peace which will restore the harmonious cooperation of the whole people for the upbuilding of Palestine.”
