On the seventh anniversary of the issuance of the Balfour Declaration, Lord Balfour, the author of the statement which gave birth to a new era in the history of the Jewish people, said:
“I beg to offer my most hearty congratulations on the success already achieved by the Zionist movement, and my best wishes for its future progress. Doubtless there are difficulties still to be overcome; this is inevitable. But those who, like myself, have a firm faith in the future of Zionism may surely draw great encouragement from the past.”
