Zionists Conduct Two-state Parley

The Zionist Federation of Texas and Louisiana, at its two-day convention here, set a quota of $4,000 for the Zionist extension fund. Support of the program of the Zionist Organization of America was pledged by the 120 delegates, who came here from all sections of the two states.

A “Nachlath Texas” to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Texan independence will be established in Palestine with funds to be raised by the Jewish National Fund.

A commission of seven members, with Rabbi Henry Raphael Gold of Dallas as its head, was elected. Louis A. Freed of Houston, for the past thirty years at the helm of Zionism in this section, retired from active leadership. He accepted membership on the commission.

Mendel N. Fisher of New York, national field director of the Zionist Organization of America, pleaded for strengthening of the Zionist Organization and presented the new program sponsored by the national organization. The Federation pledged itself to obtain 1,500 members this year.
