Despite three new brick factories that are operating or are ready to operate in this district, there is a scarcity of bricks because of the great building boom here. As a result individual workshops and factories operating inside Tel Aviv are doing a thriving business.
A brick factory on Jewish National Fund land in the Haifa Bay zone produces 18,000 bricks daily and is now in process of increasing its production. A factory that will produce 100,000 bricks per day is being built at Nahlath Yehuda, in the vicinity of Bishon-le-Zion, by a group of Czechoslovakian Jews. It represents an investment of about $150,000. Another factory, recently opened at Rishon-le-Zion at a cost of $75,000, is producing 20,000 bricks daily.
