Winners in the fourth Biggest Jewish News of the Week Contest will be announced tomorrow in the Jewish Daily Bulletin. They will share in the $100 cash prizes awarded each week to writers of the best 250-word letters.
This series of contests is a weekly feature of The Bulletin, with a new one beginning in each week – end edition. Prizes are awarded every Friday.
Everybody is eligible. General readers, college and high school students have the opportunity of winning money merely by writing to the editor and telling him what is the biggest Jewish news of the week and why. It doesn’t matter what news events is chosen as the most important topic so long as you can explain why it is of pertinent interest to Jews. If your letter is selected as one of the three best in any of the three divisions you will receive part of the $100 in cash as your reward.
$25 FIRST PRIZE
Readers who enter this letter-writing contest are eligible for a first prize of $25. Second and third prizes are $10 and $5, respectively.
College men and women receive the same amount in prizes for the first three places.
High school students may win $10, a gold medal and points for their schools as first prize. A silver medal and $5 in cash goes to the second prize winner, while $2 and a bronze medal is awarded as third prize.
FIFTH CONTEST ON
Winners in these three divisions, having submitted the best 250-word letters on the biggest Jewish news of the week for the weekly news period from December 2 to December 7, will be announced in tomorrow’s edition of The Bulletin.
However, it is not too late to enter the FIFTH contest, which began in the December 9 week-end edition and continues until tomorrow. All readers and students who desire to enter this current competition can do so by submitting their letters on the biggest Jewish news of this week.
These manuscripts must be in the hands of the judges before midnight Monday, December 17. Six entry coupons, one of which has appeared in each issue of The Bulletin this week, must accompany every letter. For those readers and students who have missed an issue of The Bulletin, back numbers can be obtained at our offices, 221 Center street, New York City.
This series of contests will continue for an indefinite period, offering readers of The Bulletin opportunity each week to win a substantial cash prize. Age does not matter. Even if you have already won a prize in the three contests already held you are still eligible for a share of the $100 awarded weekly.
