#ord were marked by the hurling of fireworks into Jewish shops, many of which were forced to close during the busiest hours of the day.

The immediate dismissal of all employees who have made purchases in shops owned by Jews was ordered by the artisans’ chamber of Bielefeld in a circular decree to all its members.

In a number of towns in which anti-Jewish feeling found expression, the dependents of shopkeepers were arrested when they attempted to justify their making changes on anti-Jewish placards, causing them to read as though urging trade with Jews.
