Theatre Comico, in which Ferdinand Bruckner’s play, “The Races,” was being shown, was closed today after the German Minister protested officially to the government. An anti-Jewish riot took place at the theater last night when German Nazis clashed with anti-Nazis.

Bruckner’s play is an indictment of Hitlerism and portrays the disintegration of the Jewish family under Hitlerism as well as the persecution of the Jews.

The anti-Hitlerite play was to have been produced in the United States by the Theatre Guild, but after opening in Philadelphia, it was abruptly closed.

“The Races” is now being shown in London.
