Goemboes Aide Promises Jews Fair Treatment

Hungarian Jewish citizens with grievances against the government were invited today to submit their complaints freely to officials. Speaking at a meeting of the government party, Dr. Tibor Szitvay, former Minister of Justice and now a member of parliament, declared that Premier Julius Goemboes and the reigning party were determined to “emphasize the traditional Hungarian spirit which knows no religious hatred.”

“We recognize equal rights in return for equal duties,” Dr. Szitvay said. “Therefore any Jewish complaint will be dealt with in accordance with justice and equality for all citizens irrespective of religion.”
