400 to Attend Regional Meet on January 26

The position of the synagogue in the present social emergency and formulation of a practical program of social activity for congregational organizations will be discussed at the First Regional Conference on Social Justice, which will be held here on January 26 and 27 under the auspices of the social justice commissions of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.

The general theme of the conference will be “The Synagogue and the Social Crisis.” Sessions will be held at Temple Emanu-El on January 26 and in the Community House of the Free Synagogue on January 27.

More than 400 delegates from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont and the District of Columbia are expected to attend.
