Wandering Arab tribes have made it a practice to settle on land owned by Jews, put up their tents or huts and defy attempts to evict them, claiming squatters’ rights. Because of the possibilities of disorders resulting from this, the government has found it necessary to call a conference to study means of coping with the problem.
