Lone Man Organized Boycott Against Jews in Lithuania Market

The story of how a single teacher organized a boycott against the Jews in his town is reported here from Shweksne.

Leading his pupils at the Lithuanian school out into the market place on a market day, the teacher stationed one child at the stall of each Jew displaying goods and ordered the children to discourage Lithuanians from buying of the Jews.

Police on duty in the market place made no attempt to interfere in the “one-man movement.”

Maurice of Nassau, Stadtholder of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, 1584-1625, employed Abraham Coen as his receiver-general.
