Samuel Markewich charged Gellis with “framing” a charge of bribery and extortion against Arthur Simon, dismissed Health Department kashruth inspector, in the two-hour defense summation which featured yesterday’s session of Simon’s trial in General Session Court, Manhattan.

Gellis, connected with the Isaac Gellis Kosher Provisions Company, testified that Simon had demanded a $500 bribe to quash a complaint for an alleged violation of the Kosher Food Law lodged against his company by Maurice Goldstein, Health Department in-
