The visit of General Goering to Poland has not only led to a change in the German-Polish relations but has resulted in German deputies in the Polish parliament voting for the first time last night in favor of the budget.

This startling change in the attitude of the German deputies has caused much comment in the political circles here, in view of the fact that the representatives of the German minority in Poland have always demonstratively voted against the budget whenever it came up for a vote in parliament.

Deputy Lewin, the representative of the Orthodox Agudath Israel party, which supports the Polish government, announced at the same session of the parliament that his party would also vote for the budget. He emphasized at the same time, however, that a too heavy taxation is being imposed upon the Jewish population and unjustified discriminations are being practiced with regard to the Jewish schools.

“I hope that the Pilsudski government will not curtail the rights of the Jews,” Deputy Lewin said.
