Italy Gives Rabbi Order of the Crown

David Ephrato, chief rabbi of Alexandria, Egypt, formerly of Florence, was awarded the title of Grand Officer of the Order of the Italian Crown by the Italian government today. Rabbi Ephrato was the leader of the Jewish National Fund in Italy.

Lazzar Otreve, a Jewish industrialist, was awarded a gold medal by the government today in recognition of his contributions in the field of education.
