All municipal subsidies for Jewish schools and cultural institutions were cancelled today when the question of subsidizing these institutions came up for a vote before the municipal council.
The majority of the council, consisting of members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic (Endek) party, voted against continuation of the subsidies. On the other hand, the council decided that Polish cultural institutions were to receive more municipal support than was heretofore the case.
