Thrift House, permanent rummage shop at 9 West Fifty-seventh street, operated in the interests of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, yesterday opened a Salvage Shop as a “shop within a shop.”

Sanford L. Solander will address the Current Discussion Group of the Y. M. H. A. of Washington Heights Thursday night on ‘The World Against War and Fascism. Solander recently returned from Brussels where he attended the International Congress of Students Against War and Fascism, as the representative of New York University.

The Junior League of the New York Division of the National Home for Jewish Children at Denver, Col., will sponsor a benefit dance and entertainment at the Hotel Gotham on March 2.

Temple Beth El of Rockaway Park is sponsoring a literary contest in honor of the 800th anniversary of the birth of Moses Maimonides. The contest is open to grammar and high school students of the vicinity.

Leaders of the Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn membership drives of the Order Sons of Zion will meet tomorrow night at the order’s headquarters, 1123 Broadway, to plan the campaign’s windup banquet on March 17.
