Dinner Nets $9,245 As Buffalo Drive Opens

More than $9,245 was subscribed by 600 Buffalo Jews at the opening dinner of the United Jewish Emergency Appeal held at the Hotel Statler here. The total amount sought is $27,000.

Speakers at the dinner included James Waterman Wise and Dr. Jacob Billikopf. Announcement was made by Dr. Albert G. Butzer, of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, regarding a non-Jewish committee in Buffalo to raise $2,250 to supplement the Jewish drive. He also named a committee of ten ministers heading the Christian appeal of which he will act as chairman.
