Giullo Piazza, a well-known Jewish poet and critic, died here today at the age of 72.
Piazza was the author of a number of patriotic songs. He was known as an irridentist and had been frequently imprisoned by the Austrian authorities for advocating that Trieste become a part of Italy, at a time when this city was still under the Austrian regime.
