The Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations held a general meeting yesterday at the Community House of Temple Emanu-El, 1 East Sixty-fifth street, with Mrs. David E. Goldfarb, president, presiding. About 250 delegates attended, representing 242 constituent organizations of the Federation.

Four new organizations became affiliated with the Federation during the month, it was reported. They are: Emanu-El Sisterhood of Yonkers; Iota Alpha Pi Sorority, the oldest Jewish sorority in America; Yetta Gredinger Relief of Mount Vernon, and the Beth Arabian Sisterhood of the Bronx.

Speakers at the meeting included Morris E. Siegel a director of Evening and Continuation Schools of the Board of Education; Mrs. Greenough Townsend, secretary of the arbitration council of the American Arbitration Association, and Mrs. Florence Dolowitz, president of the American Women’s ORT.

King John of England ordered wealthy Jew of Bristol to have his teeth pulled out one by one for trying to evade payment of an enormous tax.
