Political feeling ran high throughout Palestine today during the plebiscite conducted by the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor, on the question of whether or not to ratify the London peace agreements between David Ben-Gurion, leader of the Laborites, and Vladimir Jabotinsky, leader of the Revisionists.
Jabotinsky’s ultimatum demanding a round-table conference of representatives of all Zionist groups was published today in the Palestine press, adding more fuel to excitement created by the plebiscite.
The group in the Histadruth which favors ratification of the agreement with Jabotinsky as well as the opposing group were both conducting their campaigns in the streets here with placards, while Ben-Gurion himself watched the balloting. The adherents were led by Berl Locker and by Berl Katznelson who urged the voters to cast their ballots in favor of ratifying the London agreement.
