synagogue since the Jews were expelled from Spain nearly 500 years ago.

Grand Rabbi Julien Weil of France has been selected to recite the prayer in tribute to France for having unreservedly accorded shelter to Jewish fugitives.

High government officials will participate in the unique services to be held in the ancient synagogue of Cordoba, which is now a national Spanish monument.

The entire afternoon today passed in literary festivals and in excursions arranged by the municipality for the foreign guests. Judaeo—Spanish poetry was recited in the evening at a commemorative concert given in the Conservatory of Music.

A lecture on Maimonides’ conception of the Aristotleian philosophy was the feature of yesterday’s program. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Jose Gaos of the University of Madrid before an assembly of scientists and philosophers.
