Dr. Emanuel Lasker, former chess champion of the world, was today appointed chess editor of the Izvestia, official organ of the Soviet government.
Dr. Lasker will also occupy the post of director of the Moscow Chess Association. The appointments follow Dr. Lasker’s recent announcement that he would make his permanent home in Soviet Russia.
