Jews in Milwaukee have started celebrations of the 800th birthday anniversary of Maimonides with a series of lectures on the famous Jewish scholar’s life at Temple Beth-El and at the Jewish Center.
Morris Tenenbaum, 59, widely known Jewish book dealer of this city, died following an operation at Rochester, Minn. Mr. Tenenbaum had been active in the Milwaukee Jewish Orphans’ Home and the Jewish National Fund.
An appeal for funds to aid 300 needy Jewish families in celebrating the Passover has been issued by Rabbi Solomon I. Scheinfeld, leader of the orthodox community in Milwaukee.
