An amusing outcome of the negotiations between Germany and Hungary for the exchange and joint production of films has been disclosed here.
The Hungarians rejected the “Aryan paragraph,” by which Jews were to be eliminated from the films, on the ground that they themselves, being of remote Tartar origin, are not “Aryans.” The Germans were forced to surrender completely on this score.
It was stated here today that a change in the outlook even in Germany itself may be forthcoming shortly, with the presentation in Berlin of the “Spring Parade,” a motion picture which has hitherto been banned in Germany because the star, Miss Franziska Gaal, a Hungarian film actress, is a Jewess. Miss Gaal is well known in the moving picture world both in Europe and Hollywood.
