Jews must either put the interests of Britain before the interests of Jewry, or they will be deported from Britain, Sir Oswald Mosley, the British Fascist leader, declared at a public meeting yesterday.
“For the first time,” Sir Oswald said, “I openly and publicly challenge Jewish interests in this country. Commanding commerce, commanding the press and the cinema, dominating the banking houses of London, they are killing industry with their sweatshops. Those great interests are not intimidating and cannot intimidate the Fascist movement of the modern age.”
The meeting, which took place in Leicester, England, was heckled by many who tried to drown Mosley’s words in a din of boos and jeers. A fight broke out between the Black Shirts and the hecklers, necessitating the intervention of the police.
