Board Adopts Rules to Govern Parley Election

Election of delegates from America to the nineteenth World Zionist Congress will take place in all parts of the country, where ever Zionists are to be found, on Sunday, June 23.

In line with the special manifesto and instructions issued by the world executive of the Zionist Organization, the Central Shekel and Election Board has adopted a set of rules and regulations which will govern the conduct of the elections.

This board, which has under its supervision the distribution of shekolim in addition to the carrying through of the election, is composed of representatives from all Zionist parties in America, divided as follows:

Six representatives from the Zionist Organization of America, including also Hadassah and the Order Sons of Zion; six representatives from the Poale Zion-Ziere Zion; three representatives from Mizrachi and one representative from the Zionist Revisionists.

The following sixteen men and women comprise the entire board: Leo Wolfson, chairman; Isidore Epstein, Dr. David Schechet, David Wertheim, vice-chairmen, Samuel M. Schmidth, secretary; Harry Grayer, treasurer; Julliet N. Benjamn, Alice Bernstein, Samuel Caplan, Philip Cruso, Moshe Furmansky, Mrs. B. G. Goldstein, Max Hagler, Morris Margulies, Louis Segal and Mrs. Sophie Udin.

One of the most important decisions made by the board has to do with the printing of a special register containing all numbers of shekolim receipts that have been issued and paid for this year.

The register will be placed in the hands of the persons in charge of each individual polling place on the day of the election, and only those holding shekel receipts and whose number appears on this register, will be allowed to vote. This regulation was carried through in order to prevent holders of unpaid shekolim from voting.
