Acting under direct instructions from Berlin, the Nazi members of the Foreign Press Association in Paris made an effort today to bar Dr. Georg Bern-hard, noted German-Jewish journalist and former editor of the Vossische Zeitung of Berlin, from membership in the association.

The Nazi correspondents threatened to resign if Dr. Bernhard is admitted as a member. The majority at today’s meeting, however, voted to ignore the Nazi threat and to accept Dr. Bernhard as a full-fledged member.

Dr. Bernhard, who has been deprived by Nazi Germany of his citizenship, is now residing here as the editor of a German daily anti-Nazi newspaper.
