Dr. Loosli also declared that under the Kerensky regime, when the Czar was forced to abdicate it was proved that the “Protocols” were fabricated by Czarist agents. Material discovered in the Russian archieves left no doubt that the Czarist secret police were responsible for the document.
The unmistakable denunciation of the “Protocols” by Dr. Loosli created a strong impression in the courtroom, especially since Dr. Loosli does not represent any side being the court’s representative. Dr. Loosli’s testimony will play the decisive role in influencing the verdict. It coincides fully with the testimony of the pro-Jewish expert, Dr. Arthur Baumgartner, and completely contradicts the testimony given by Col. Fleischauer, the Nazi “expert.”
A sensation was created in court today when a letter was read from Alexander Kerensky, the head of the former Kerensky government of Russia, branding as false the Nazi allegations that he and the members of his Cabinet were all Jewish.
DENOUNCES NAZIS
Dr. Loosli preceded his expert analysis at the trial today with a dramatic denunciation of the anti-Jewish propaganda which the Nazis are carrying on in Switzerland.
“This propaganda against the Jews is only a shield for Nazi criminal intentions against the independence and the democracy of our country,” the Swiss expert said. He denied the allegations of the Nazi press that he is a Freemason.
Dr. Loosli ridiculed the Nordic theory and the “Aryan” science which holds that “Jews who live among us for generations as peaceful fellow citizens, sharing our joys and woes, are criminals seeking to destroy us.”
“If this is science, then Mr. President, I ask you to certify me as an incurable idiot and put me into an asylum,” Dr. Loosli said, turning to the president judge.
The court’s expert then analyzed Col. Fleischhauer’s “expert” testimony, emphasizing that it was nothing but an anti-Semitic oration. He then proceeded to read his own findings in which he denounced the notorious “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” as a forgery.
Dr. Loosli, in the course of his testimony, declared that the Frenchman Maurice Joly, whose essay, written in 1864, was utilized by the anti-Semites to forge the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion was not a Jew.
“On the basis of original Russian documents, I am able to state positively that the ‘Protocols’ are a forgery fabricated by the Czarist Russian Secret Police,” Dr. Loosli concluded.
Dr. Loosli will continue his testimony tomorrow, after which the attorneys for both sides, the Jewish and the Nazi, will be given a limited time for summation before the verdict is issued.
