Press Applauds Berne Verdict on ‘protocols’

The decision yesterday by the court in Berne branding the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” as a brazen fabrication of anti-Semites to incite hatred against the Jews, is hailed today by the entire English press.

Cables received in the London office of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency from various European countries show that the verdict was received from all over Europe, with the exception of Germany, with high praise for the judgment of the court.


The Voelkischer Beobachter, Hitler’s chief organ, commenting on the outcome of the Berne trial, declares that “the fight with regard to the Protocols is not over yet.” This fight is just beginning, the Nazi paper says.

The London Express describes the “Protocols” as the biggest forgery in history.

The News-Chronicle, a London daily newspaper, commenting on the verdict, expresses thanks “that the light of reason is not yet quenched by the thick darkness of insane prejudice.”
