500 at Reception to Mrs. Friedman

About 500 persons gathered at the Ambassador Hotel yesterday afternoon in a reception and luncheon given by the Palestine Light-house in honor of the return from Palestine of its president, Mrs. Samuel D. Friedman.

Mrs. Friedman gave a report on the dedication of the new building in Palestine, erected by the Light-house, to be used as a home, school, workshop and center for the blind.

Mrs. Alexander Kohut was honorary chairman of the affair. Greetings sent by Governor Lehman were read by Dr. David de Sola Pool.

Charles H. Johnson, Secretary of the New York State Board of Charities, who had visited the Institution in Jerusalem spoke in praise of its building and its work.

Rabbi Stephen S. Wise made a plea for support of the Palestine Lighthouse and its activities in behalf of the blind.
