Appeal Aides to Hold First Meeting Today

The first rally of workers in the Greater New York campaign of the United Jewish Appeal will be held this afternoon at the Hotel Commodore, it was announced yesterday by I. Edwin Goldwasser, who with Michael Schaap and Nothan Straus are co-chairmen of the campaign. Leaders in two score industries, and representatives of the five boroughs will report on the progress made in their respective ##lds in the effort to raise $1,250,000 as New York’s share of the $3,250,000 fund for the aid of Jews of Germany and other lands and for their settlement in Palestine.

Bernard S. Deutsch, President of the Board of Aldermen, will be the principal speaker.

The drive in Greater New York was launched four weeks ago. A number of dinners have already been held in various parts of the community and in Westchester, and the funds raised at these functions will be presented at the rally.

Mrs. Richard Percy Limburg, chairman of the women’s division, will announce results of her group.

5 CITIES HOLD APPEAL FUNCTIONS TODAY

Five cities in various parts of the United States will hold functions today on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal, it was announced at the New York headquarters of the fund-raising agency which is {SPAN}###king{/SPAN} $3,250,000 for the relief and rehabilitation of the Jews of Germany and other lands and for the settlement of Jews in Palestine.

They are in Allentown, Pa.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Philadelphia; Elizabeth, N.J., and Dover, N.J.
