Milk is ‘sun-bathed’ to Increase Vitamins

“Sun-bathed” milk, treated with ultra-violet rays, is being introduced by the Borden’s milk company in the metropolitan area. The process used increases the milk’s vitamin D content. The new milk is called “Irradiated Vitamin D Milk.”

Dr. Henry T. Scott of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation explained that this vitamin is “required by the body for forming strong bones and sound teeth. It is needed by infants to help protect them from the serious disease called rickets.”
