Two McKeesport synagogues, Keser Israel and Sfard Anshe Galizien, have merged to form Sfard Synagogue. The united congregation will use the Anshe Galizien Building.
At the annual meeting, the Rodef Shalom Sisterhood elected the following officers for the coming year: Mrs. Ferdinand T. Weil, president; Mrs. Nathan B. Jacobs, recording secretary; Mrs. Richard Benswanger, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Harold B. Block, treasurer; Mrs. Herschel N. Benedict, auditor.
The Jewish Children’s Aid Society has elected the following officers for the ensuing year: Mrs. George H. Berman, reelected president for the third successive term: Mrs. Karl Kalmenson and Mrs. Frank Wess, vice-presidents; Mrs. A. Rubenstein, recording secretary; Mrs. William Hause, corresponding secretary; Mrs. B. Shamblatt, financial secretary; Mrs. E. Chaban, treasurer, and Ida Hansell, auditor.
