The customs department in Jaffa has confiscated 1,000 tons of German cement which was imported into Palestine by a Jewish merchant, it was learned here today.

The authorities gave as reason for their action the fact that the German trade mark was written in English instead of German, and may therefore mislead the public. The merchant will shortly be tried.
