Deutsche Justiz, the organ of the Reich Ministry of Justice, today approved the demand of the Schutz Staffel, Hitler’s Black-shirt guards, for the prosecution of Jewish business-men who induce “Aryan” competitors to remove signs reading, “This is a German store.”
The publication declared that such action is an insult to “Aryans” because it implies that they are not free to acknowledge their racial origin.
Meanwhile, despite Economic Minister Schacht’s warning to Nazis not to meddle in business, from various parts of the country incidents illustrating the drive against Jews in business were reported.
At Wismar near Luebeck, a special consecration ceremony was held for the installation of a pillory listing names of “Aryans” who patronize Jewish shops. A storm troop leader solemnly read the names from the list.
At Stralsund, owners of hotels and barber shops posted signs to the effect that Jews were unwanted and would not be served.
A commission agent in Schwerin was excluded from the Nazi union because he received treatment from a Jewish physician.
