“The development of Palestine in practically every field of economic activity has been extraordinary during the past few years, and in this development electricity has played a leading part,” the Marquess of Reading, chairman of the Palestine Electric Corporation, declared at the general meeting of the company here.

He reported that the company had obtained 13,463 new electric power consumers in 1934 and that sales of energy increased by more than 70 per cent. The gross revenue increased from #221,128 in 1933 to #363,900 in 1934, he said.
