Anti-jewish Riots Break out in Lithuanian City

Serious anti-Jewish disturbances broke out today in the city of Telsai after a series of individual quarrels between Jews and Lithuanians.

Agitators seized the opportunity to incite the population against the Jews. A mob attacked Jewish homes, smashing windows and beating up scores of persons.

A famous Yeshiva was damaged by the mob.

Order was restored by energetic police action. Twenty persons were arrested.
