Police of the city of Tripoli in Syria have arrested Butrus Luis, beadle of the Jerusalem Abyssinian church, in connection with the recent discovery of attempted arms smuggling into Palestine, it was learned here today.

Luis left Palestine a few days ago without a passport.

Luis is the fifth person to be arrested in the international search being conducted by British agents for persons responsible for the attempt last week to smuggle 359 drums of ammunition disguised as cement into Jaffa harbor consigned to a Tel Aviv importer named J. Kattan.

No trace has yet been found of Kattan, but Palestine police have furnished his description to the British agents.
