The “absurdity” of the pretense that the ban of mixed marriage in Germany will promote racial purity “must disgust any one who even vaguely studies European ethnology or who takes even a faint interest in workable eugenics,” the New York Herald-Tribune declares in an editorial yesterday.
“One need only skim the history of the Jews in Europe to know that Germany’s Jews are no more alien to the original Teutonic stock than 80 per cent of the alleged ‘Aryans’ within the Fatherland’s present frontiers.
“So what, in the name of both science and common sense, is all this Nazi anti-Jewish frenzy about?”
