Says Palestine Weighs Aid to Reich Refugees

The possibility of extending further facilities for the entry of German-Jewish refugees to being investigated by the Palestine Government, it was disclosed today by Colonial Secretary J. H. Thomas in a written reply to a query by Graham Little made public here today.

Mr. Thomas points out in his letter that the degree to which more refugees may be admitted will be determined by the High Commissioner for Palestine on the basis of the country’s absorptive capacity.

Mr. Little had asked Mr. Thomas if, in view of the continued persecution of Jews in Germany, steps couldn’t be taken immediately to increase Palestine immigration for the benefit of the German Jews.
