A split in the ranks of the rightwing Zionists in which William B. Ziff, president of the Zionist Revisionist Organization of America, resigned and formed a new organization, was revealed today.
The new group, known as the State Zionist Organization, was formed, according to its statement, at a general meeting Dec. 15, at which Mr. Ziff, chairman of its executive board, outlined a program of 28 points demanding economic and political changes in Palestine looking toward creation of a Jewish state.
Both organizations claim affiliation with the New Zionist organization, which was formed at Vienna in September from the rightwing elements dissatisfied with the World Zionist Organization.
A spokesman for the Zionist Revisionist Organization admitted that factional differences were behind the split, but discounted the importance of the new organization. He said the differences were personal and ideological, the latter being that the new organization was more extreme. He refused to be quoted on the nature of the personal differences.
With the resignation of Mr. Ziff, Benish Epstein-vice president, became acting president of the Revisionists, Mordecai Danzig was named chairman of the central executive committee to succeed Elias Ginsburg, who resigned last June and subsequently left for Palestine.
The following are the listed officers of the State Zionist Organization besides Mr. Ziff: Dr. L. Shandall, treasurer; Behjamin Richek, secretary; Daniel Gorelik, Franz J. Katz, Charles Borkon, B. Rabinowitz and L. Y. Boston, members of the executive board.
