The German Government has sent a letter of thanks to a Jewish tailor of Cologne for risking his life to save an “Aryan” from a blazing truck, it was officially announced today.
The tailor, Joseph Froehlich, is a war veteran. In carrying out the rescue he incurred injuries.
Froehlich’s act of bravery, it was stated in a letter by the Governor of Cologne, will be recorded in the next issue of the Official Gazette.
