A movement for setting German Jews in South American countries was launched today with the completion of plans for training the first 125 Jewish youths for colonization.
As the culmination of a steadily growing demand for opportunities to emigrate to South America, a conference of leading central Jewish organizations today announced the establishment of a training camp similar to the camps for training prospective Palestine pioneers.
A model farm will be set up, as will also, an artisans training centre where the first 125 youths will be trained in order to adopt them to requirements and conditions in South America.
After the training period is completed, the youths will be assisted to emigrate to Argentina, Brazil and other South American lands by the Jewish Colonization Association, which was endowed by the late Baron de Hirsch, the Hiffsverein der Juden in Deutschland, German Jewish relief organization and other bodies.
