With Baron James de Rothschild delivering the principal address, the cornerstone was laid for the Rothschild Museum at Rishon-le-Zion, first Jewish colony in Palestine. The museum is being erected in honor of Baron Edmond de Rothschild, father of Jewish colonization in Palestine, who died in 1934.

Speaking in Hebrew, Baron de Rothschild voiced amazement at the growth of the country and pledged continued assistance to the cause of the Jewish community. He urged that care be given toward betterment of the Arab peasants’ lot.
