A Giessen court has sentenced six young Nazis to terms of imprisonment ranging from three weeks to two months for individual action against Jews.

The defendants smashed the windows of Jewish houses, broke down the doors and desecrated a synagogue on Sept. 16, 1935. The local Jewish community stated that the damage had amounted to 5,000 marks.

The mild sentences were explained on the ground the youths had been drunk at the time.
